Cool site called "houzz" is like flickr for design ideas.
I've put my poor kitchen, and my kitchen cabinets, through the ringer over the years. My kitchen isn't very big either, and all the recipe testing and post-culinary school experimenting during my time in this house really has my kitchen tore up from the floor up.My wife can't even have the light on when she's in there sometimes, because it drives her nuts to actually have to see the grungy kitchen cabinet doors and all the things that need to be fixed or replaced. My kitchen design is kind of odd too. The kitchen cabinets are way too deep and things get lost in there sometimes. There is a lot of counter space that isn't utilized, and one thing my kitchen needs is more work space if anything. Kitchen design is no picnic though.
Suffice it to say, because I'm a good husband, I'm taking on the project of finding the right person to do my kitchen cabinets and kitchen design, and also the harrowing task of choosing just the right kitchen design. I was not looking forward to the process of coming up with kitchen ideas. My wife and I went down this road a few years ago, and were discouraged by the tweaks that showed up wanting to do our kitchen cabinets, and head our kitchen design. The lack of kitchen design ideas between the two of us was frustrating, too. My wife and I both know which kitchen ideas look good to us, and we agree on what a good kitchen design is, for the most part, but the biggest problem we had was expressing to the contractor the kitchen design that we want. Consequently we never saw any design plans we liked, and the kitchen cabinets have even more wear and tear now.
It was about 5 years ago that we were thinking of a new kitchen design, and I wasn't nearly as Internet savvy as I am now. Which is really to say that five years ago I didn't play with Google a lot. I play with Google plenty now, and in my quest for good kitchen design ideas, I came across a very cool website called houzz. It's wild, man. It's like a flickr for house design photos. They have over fifty-thousand photos that members have submitted of their own house design triumphs. Not just the kitchen. It's an endless stream of ideas and inspiration and houzz is fun to just hang out and browse on, too. There are some very creative people out there whose ideas will get your juices flowing if you're planning to tackle a big house project. You will see some great kitchen cabinets, and excellent kitchen ideas in general.
