Guy Fieri is a Tool.

When is this guy's fifteen minutes gonna be up?

Guy Fieri has got to be the most over hyped pseudo-celeb in the media right now. What is the appeal of this guy? Let's not even get into the way the dude presents himself. (Asian hip-hopper) How is this guy the main Food Network mouthpiece?

What is it about Guy Fieri that makes NBC want to give him game shows that won't get ratings? Why on Earth does he have like a dozen programs on the Food Network? Is his presence, and endorsement, really enough to pack people into some greasy hole?

Here's a great excerpt from Elizabeth Gunnison's article on Esquire:

[In case you're not familiar with Guy Fieri, here's a primer: He's a Food Network personality. His new book, Guy Fieri Food: Cookin' It, Livin' It, Lovin' It, contains recipes for things like "Pepper Jack Pretzels" and "Bacon Jalapeno Duck Appe-Tapas." He owns restaurants called Johnny Garlic's and Tex Wasabi's. His catchphrase is "off da' hook!" and when he expresses himself in writing, things aren't "cool" but "kewl," not "culinary" but "kulinary." Incidentally, this man probably makes more money than you.]

Former producer, and creator, of Guy Fieri's 'Diners, drive-ins, and dives, David Page, an award winning journalist, and a highly respected man of the media, has nothing good to say about Guy Fieri, and has even made claims that Fieri is anti-Semitic, and homophobic.

I've never understood his allure. The guy comes off like the biggest tool on Diners, drive-ins, and dives. Why does he have to let us know how spicy, and 'manly' he likes his food? Does he have some kind of wee-willy-winkie issue? He cooks like he just took 10 bong rips, and it's so obvious that he wants people to know he's 4:20 friendly. Cool, dude. His food on Guy's Big Bite was obnoxious, and just overplayed. If you've ever tried to make any Guy Fieri recipes from the Food Network website, you know that most of them are fake, and don't work for the average home cook. Although, I must say, most of the recipes on the Food Network website are bogus.

Guy Fieri is the only successful winner of any 'The Next Food Network Star' seasons. Any other winner has failed miserably, or been pushed to the 5:30 am time slot. I really don't think Melissa D'Arabian, and the 'Arti Party' girl have a big fisherman, or construction worker following. The Food Network must have seen something in the spiky-headed tool, who got his hair color not from his mom's side, or his dad's side, but peroxide, because his popularity is huge. Restaurant owners that are chosen to be on Diners, drive-ins, and dives, are beside themselves to appear on the show, and are honored to "cook with Guy."

He once recommended the Kopper Keg as a great place to eat in Las Vegas. I can't tell you how lame, and out of left field that recommendation of a dump with average bar food, and is a notorious cop hang-out, was to people who live here. The place is totally average, not special, and was in a crappy part of town at the time the program was taped. They are also a Michigan bar, and they play Michigan sports games. How completely lame is that? Fitting though, the Kopper Keg gives me the same vibe that I get about Flynt, MI when I watch 'Roger and me.' I used to live right around the corner from The Kopper Keg many years ago. The place was a hole then, and that location has since closed. The cops would hang out there after their baseball games, and just wait for some unsuspecting customer to step out of line. The police station that was right around the corner has closed as well. Maybe the Kopper Keg moved to be closer to the cops. Guy Fieri went to school here in Las Vegas, I would bet he is friendly in some way with the owners of The Kopper Keg.

I wouldn't trust a Guy Fieri recommendation from the Food Network for anything. Not from Diners, drive-ins, and dives, or any of his lame programs. I heard from a friend of mine who works for The Food network, that Diners, drive-ins, and dives is planning to tape another segment in Las Vegas, she wouldn't tell me the restaurant. I can't wait to see which sinkhole was chosen. 10 to 1 it's some over hyped mom and pop with crappy food. I'm not in the minority in my opinion of Guy Fieri, do a 'Guy Fieri sucks' search, and you'll see just how much this clown irritates people. lvfrankg ONE LOVE > OUR LOVE
